Beginning Phase II: Interviewing children in Kenya and Malawi. Do they have invisible friends? YES! Read more
The IF (Invisible Friend) Project is devoted to exploring the wild and wonderful ways children know–especially those nobody else sees. Sometimes these companions are based on toys or movie characters, other times they are completely original. Our team has been interviewing children (and their parents) about these IFs and this site is set up for those who may be curious.
Many children have drawn pictures of their IFs, and we share them with you on the Drawings page.
The About the Project page has a great video clip from one of our interviews. And the first article from the research, ”See-through Knowing,” is available from the free, online journal Journal of Childhood and Religion.
Eventually, we hope to provide many more links, research results, and more. Enjoy.
